Extended Care

Before School

Before school, students can fuel up with a nutritious breakfast and then meet up with friends before classes start. This program also provides parent an opportunity to get an early start to their day and not feel rushed to get their child to school and arrive at work on time. Students can continue working on school projects, get ahead in their reading, and much more.

After School

After school, Courtyard is the place to be. Our talented EDC staff guide students seamlessly throughout afternoon snack, study hall, and then into clubs. More importantly, students have an opportunity to work through their home with their teacher or classroom aide, thus providing one to one coaching on assigned course work throughout the year. Once homework is completed students are allowed to transition to our fun and exciting clubs. Our clubs include the following amazing offerings:

  • Sign Language (New to Courtyard for the 2023-2024 school year. Sign language teaches students the basic principles of signing)
  • Jazzercise (Students are introduced to a dynamic dance party that fuses cardio, strength, Pilates, hip hop, yoga and kickboxing)
  • Computers (Students will learn the basics of computers, computer terminology, hardware, software, Internet, social media, and ways to protect the computer)
  • RPG (Role Playing Games
  • Music Lessons (Individual piano, ukulele, and violin lessons can be taken for an additional fee. Students showcase their skills in two to three recitals per year)
  • Spanish Camp (Individual and group lessons in a full Spanish immersion environment with lots of hands-on activities to build confidence)

Courtyard is always looking at our course offerings and looking to actively improve. We continue to partner with the families and community to bring in a rotation of offerings for all ages throughout the year.

At the close of the day, students often exit commenting, “Aww, do I have to leave!”

My favorite thing about Courtyard is the after school clubs. Some of my favorite clubs are Cooking Club, Sports and Games Club, and Junior EDC.”
